West Bank Highlights

Colossi of Memnon:

These two imposing statues, standing 18 meters tall, once guarded the entrance to the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. They represent one of the oldest and most iconic remnants of Luxor’s ancient history.

Valley of the Kings:

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this royal necropolis contains over 60 tombs of New Kingdom pharaohs, including Ramses II, Seti I and Tutankhamun. The tombs are renowned for their vibrant wall paintings, depicting the journey of the soul through the underworld, guided by gods like Osiris and Anubis.

   – Note: Standard tickets cover entry to three tombs. Premium tombs (e.g., Tutankhamun or Seti I) require additional fees.

Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir El-Bahari):

Built for Queen Hatshepsut, Egypt’s most famous female pharaoh, this terraced mortuary temple blends seamlessly into the cliffs behind it. Its elegant design and intricate carvings narrate her divine birth and trade expeditions to Punt, reflecting her powerful legacy.

Lunch

Lunch at local restaurant is included.

East Bank Highlights

Karnak Temple Complex:

Spanning over 200 acres, Karnak is a marvel of ancient engineering and devotion to the gods, particularly Amun-Ra. Highlights include the Hypostyle Hall, with its forest of massive columns and the Avenue of Sphinxes that once connected Karnak to Luxor Temple.

Luxor Temple:

This elegant temple, built by Amenhotep III and expanded by Ramses II, celebrates the renewal of kingship. Its towering pylons, statues of Ramses II and remnants of a Roman-era church and mosque highlight the temple’s multi-layered history.
