Due to the flooding caused by the construction of the High Dam, Philae Temple was removed from its indigenous island at Philae and reassembled about 550 meters away on the Island of Agilika; it has retained some of its romantic beauty. Unlike other temples, this temple’s elements follow a curb symbolizing the meanders of life itself. The Pavilion of Nectanabo and the Kiosk of Trajan display fine sculptures and bas-reliefs and were probably custodians of the sacred boat that ferried the goddess Isis.
